Will Mayweather fight Maidana if/when he destroys Khan?

WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) still hasn’t really faced anyone of note other than a light hitting former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi, a 35-year-old pretty much shot and undersized Marco Antonio Barrera and WBA light welterweight champion Andriy Kotelnik, whose claim to fame was beating Marcos Maidana by a gift 12 round decision while fighting in his adopted country of Germany.

Despite the lack of experience for Khan, he’s being mentioned as a possible opponent for Floyd Mayweather Jr. next year. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has mentioned this as being a possible fight. However, WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) might have a little to say about that. Maidana faces Khan on December 11th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If Maidana knocks Khan cold, it will, you would assume, take the Mayweather-Khan fight off the table unless Mayweather still wanted to fight the beaten Khan. I don’t know how boxing fans could stomach fight like that, but it might sell if they were to take and put in a stadium in the UK.

In the United States, this fight would likely draw fan protest because they wouldn’t want to see Mayweather fight a guy that was just knocked out by Maidana. But I’m wondering whether Mayweather’s people and Golden Boy would be interested in putting Mayweather with Maidana if he comes out on top against Khan?

It would seem only fair. Khan is no more popular than Maidana in the United States, so why not match Mayweather up against Maidana? Maybe Khan could be a star in the United States someday, but a knockout loss to Maidana won’t help things.

It’s far too early to be thinking of putting a guy like Khan, who is completely unknown with casual boxing fans in the U.S, with a pro like Mayweather. I can see Maidana doing a lot better against Mayweather than Khan. At least Maidana would have the power to make Mayweather give him some respect.

Will you rather make it happen or you should first watch Pacquiao vs Margarito fight and see if there will be another negotiations between Mayweather and Pacquiao team. Hope and it will come. Hopefully!

Sugar Shane Mosley is no more for Arum

Sugar Shane Mosley, who showed his age and the wear and tear of 53 professional bouts and 376 live rounds against listless Sergio Mora Saturday, did not help his standing in the Manny Pacquiao Big Fight Sweepstakes.

That's the word from Pacman promoter Bob Arum, who was busy with religious observance on important Jewish holiday Yom Kippur and did not view the bout live.

I asked Arum on Sunday if he had read the less than glowing reports of the draw between "B Lister" Mora and fading superstar Mosley.

Personally, watching on a huge HD Manhattan movie screen, I saw Mosley as 9-3 winner in rounds and a 117-111 victor on points. But one judge favored Mora, the second Mosley and veteran Lou Moret evened it out with his 114-114 tally.

"I did and I read them saying Mosley was huffing and puffing for air in the fourth or fifth round," Arum said. "To me, that is the real tipoff for an aging fighter. Even Big George Foreman did that in his 40s but he always had that big, big punch like in the (Michael) Moorer fight.

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys (example, 20 year old Saul Canelo Alvarez) old enough to be his son.

"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules)," Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.

"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

Arum said he wouldn't be interested in playing the flakcatcher if he made a Shane-Manny bout at this point.

"I have to constantly be aware of this, the flak from the naysayers. We've faced with (Antonio) Margarito for Nov. 13 and we got real, instant flak. But now even the naysayers are looking at that just as a fight. Now the pendulum is swining the other way and they're saying maybe Antonio is too strong or too big for Manny."

On another front, Arum said Julio Cesar Chavez assured him face to face in a meeting at Top Rank's Las Vegas offices Wednesday that he will fly to the Philippines this Saturday to train with Freddie Roach and do some sparring with Pacman in Baguio.

Arum is planning a Dec. 4 Atlantic City doubleheader featuring Chavez against Polish gamester Pawel Wolak and Miguel Cotto in the co-main to hopefully set up a late February or March showdown between Cotto and Chavez.

Meanwhile, Kermit Cintron, also a Puerto Rican, has been blasting trainer Manny Steward accusing the Kronkmeister of blocking his path to a showdown with Cotto.

Steward told me on Saturday accepting or rejecting Froggy Kermit, his former charge, was not his decision to make.

Watch Pacquiao vs Margarito Fight instead and make your pick. It is between the sensational pound-for-pound king and the heavy puncher. Who will emerge as victorious on their November 13, 2010 fight? Watch out boxing fanatics!

Andre Berto wants Mosley, Cotto and Pacquiao in 2011

Berto is having another big options for his career. WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (26-0, 20 KO’s) will be making his 5th defense of his World Boxing Council belt on November 27th against Freddy Hernandez (29-1, 20 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Berto, 27, feels confident that he’ll win that fight, and few boxing fans would disagree with Berto. He’s a lot faster than Hernandez and a bigger puncher as well. Berto is already looking beyond the Hernandez fight and has three big named fighters that he wants to take on next year in 2011: Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. Those are fights that have a decent chance of being put together. One of the reasons why is because Berto’s fights are regularly shown on HBO, and he’s got a lot of fans in the United States to pool from to come and see him fight or at least purchase his fights on pay-per-view, as long as it’s against a popular fighter.

Berto, in an article by Chris Robinson at examiner.com, says “If all goes well [with his fight against Hernandez next month], like I said, me and Mosley have unfinished business. I would love to take care of early next year. The Cotto fight is another fight people have been talking about for the past two years. And hopefully we can finish the year off by getting Manny Pacquiao.” That would be a huge year for Berto if he was able to get those three fights. The only fighters that Berto would have missed is Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Amir Khan. However, the chances of Berto beating Mosley, Cotto and Pacquiao probably aren’t very good. I can see him beating one, possibly two of them, but not all three. Berto has looked too vulnerable in fights against Steve Forbes, Juan Urango and Luis Collazo.

If Berto is struggling against those fighters, then I really don’t like his changes against even better fighters. As bad as Berto has looked in fights against Forbes and Collazo, I can see Hernandez beating Berto and maybe by knockout. Berto can dish it out but he doesn’t look good in taking shots to the head. He seems to get flustered easily and come apart.

I think Berto would have a good chance of beating Mosley, if Shane looks the same way he did against Sergio Mora recently. Mosley has looked shot in his last two fights against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mora. Facing a guy like Berto, who would be fighting at home, would make it very tough on Shane to beat.

Dont forget to watch Pacquiao vs Margarito Fight on November 13 to see if Pacquiao fits for this Berto's Classification. See you there.

Pacquiao vs Mayweather - Arum still into it

The big boss and promoter Bob Arum feels that Manny Pacquiao is better off if he moves back down to welterweight next year rather than continuing to fight at junior middleweight and above. In article by Michael Marley at examiner, Arum says “It’s just too much size difference fighting these bigger guys. Freddie [Roach] and Alex [Ariza] were telling me Manny will weigh in at 149 or 150 and then not add much weight after that so not to lose any of his phenomenal speed. But they stressed they don’t want Manny stretching it like this after this fight. Manny will fight twice in the new year. We’re looking at a May bout with or without [Floyd] Mayweather. Who knows how his legal problems will play out so we don’t count on Floyd. But, like Freddie and Alex told me, from here on out Manny will stick to the welterweight division.”

That figures. What about Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez? Isn’t Pacquiao at least going to fight the best junior middleweights rather than Margarito, who isn’t the best. What that’s the whole point in fighting Margarito for another paper title if you’re not going to allow Pacquiao to fight guys like Williams or Martinez. Well, if Arum wants Pacquiao only to fight at welterweight, I don’t see any problem with Pacquiao fighting Martinez and Williams if they can melt down to that weight. I think they both can do it with the money that’s on the line for the fight. It’s certainly better to see Pacquiao fight those guys than watching him travel down the same old road and fight Miguel Cotto again.

I don’t want to see them fight again. It was a mismatch the first time around and it won’t be any more competitive the second time around. As for Mayweather, I’d like to see him fight Pacquiao in 2011, but like Arum says, there’s no telling whether Mayweather will be able to until he gets on top of his legal problems. I think Mayweather could easily do it, and with the pressure on him to make even more money, I think he would do really well. Mayweather is able to multitask and I think he could still beat Pacquiao with ease no matter what else he had on his mind at the time. I honestly think Mayweather could beat Pacquiao while watching television on the background, having conversation on the phone and having a bowl of cereal. That how good Mayweather is. Arum might be sorry if Mayweather does fight Pacquiao in May and ends up schooling him badly and ending the gravy train.

If Mayweather can’t fight Pacquiao, then I’d like to see Pacquiao matched against Williams or Martinez instead of Cotto again. I already know who the other opponents going to be for Pacquiao. It’s going to be Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I can’t even begin to understand that fight, and I bet it will be another fight that goes for $55 or more. Can you imagine paying $55 to watch Pacquiao fight Chavez Jr.? I hope I’m wrong, but that’s who I see Pacquiao facing next year, along with Cotto again.

Dont miss to watch the much awaited fight happening at Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Watch Pacquiao vs Margarito Fight.

Who can Shane Mosley fight now? Forget Pacquiao and Cotto

It would be kind to say that Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO’s) has underperformed in his last two fights. Mosley, 39, lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. by a 12 round decision in May, and then on September 18th, Mosley fought to a boring 12 round draw with Sergio Mora. That was one of the dullest fights I’ve seen in quite some time, and Mosley looked slow, lethargic and old. Bob Arum, the head of Top Rank, isn’t interesting in matching Mosley up with his fighters Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto.

Those are the fighters that Mosley wants to fight. However, he hasn’t done himself any favors by looking so poor in both of his last two fights. Mosley did nothing after the 2nd round in the Mayweather bout. I can understand Mosley losing to Mayweather, but not looking so bad for the last 10 rounds of the fight. Mosley looked totally shot, and he continued to look that way against Mora. Luckily for him, Mora chose to move all night long instead of opening up on Mosley.

Unless Mosley is interested in fighting someone like Joshua Clottey, who Arum was willing to match against Mosley in the past, he probably can forget about fighting any of Top Ranks stable of fighters. Mosley needs to downsize his desire to fight big named opponents, because he hasn’t looked entertaining enough in his last two fights to lure any of the other popular fighters in taking him on.
Below I’ve listed potential opponents for Mosley:

Saul Alvarez
Andre Berto
Mike Jones
Kermit Cintron
Alfredo Angulo
Vanes Martirosyan

In the meantime crave no more to watch Pacquiao vs Margarito Fight since it is weeks from reality.

Now that Mayweather is still undefeated and the name of Manny Pacquiao is still in line being his next possible rival, will he say yes for this? Watch out for the development of this upcoming negotiations.

Mayweather vs Mosley Fight Update: Mayweather wins via Unanimous Decision

Who R U Picking? It’s over guys! Congratulations to the Money Mayweather who in later rounds have shown his power and offensive skills to outshow Sugar Shane Mosley. The 3 Judges have scored for a win to Mayweather which is very clear to have won that fight.

Shane Mosley admitted that he got tired on the later rounds and was not able to follow up his big punches which hit Mayweather’s face that looks like the Floyd is going down. We have shown a different Floyd Mayweather tonight in his fighting style. As you can observe that he is now more aggressive and powerful. It was not a boring fight anyways as what others are saying prior to the fight. Mayweather has just showed his skills offensively against Mosley to show to his fans live and worldwide watching on their screens that he can move up to the level with offensive tactics.

When Mayweather was asked if what are the possibilities for him to fight the P4P King, Manny Pacquiao, he insisted that Manny should undergo on an international blood testing. Let us all hope for the best to come that Mayweather vs Pacquiao will take place later this year.

For now let us just give credits to the man who outscored Sugar Shane Mosley. Mayweathers plans were succesful! Congratulations Floyd Mayweather Jr.!

Pacquiao picking Shane Mosley to outshine Mayweather

Mayweather vs Mosley - The champion Manny Pacquiao has come up with his own forecast for the May 1st fight between victorious Mayweather and Mosley. Pacquiao is picking Mosley to win the May 1st fight since he believes that Shane can throw a lot of punches compared to Mayweather, who’s a very defensive boxer.

Defense alone can’t win fights, more than ever against a fighter like Shane Mosley who relies on speed. It was proven conceivably in the last fight of Manny against the Ghanaian fighter who just lasted a 12 round fight for survival. Although defense is most likely the trade name for Mayweather, this alone can’t win without an offensive move against the opponent. You need also to attack and counter your rival to convince judges that you are able and eligible to win the fight.

It maybe a wishful thinking on Pacquiao’s part by saying he thinks Mosley will beat Mayweather but this is just a prediction anyways. In spite of everything, if Mosley gets rid of Mayweather, the potential Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight will still happen. This could be such a burden for Pacquiao now since the world relies on his combatant winnings. Each of his fights will always be watched by many.

Now you have to watch Mayweather vs Mosley on their May 1, 2010 match up at the MGM Grand to ever witness the fight that have been waiting by Shane Mosley. Join them on their quest for supremacy. Is it the one that is unbeaten or the one that is hungry for a big comeback fight? Who R U Picking?

Mayweather & Mosley both agree on random drug testing

Floyd Mayweather Jr and Shane Mosley have agreed to undergo Olympic-style drug testing for their 1 May fight.

Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley met with officials from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) to agree on a testing programme. The programme will include random blood tests before and after the fights.

As far as we can remember that Mayweather's proposed fight with Manny Pacquiao come to nothing in January after Manny Pacquiao refused to yield to his rival's demands for random testing in which he believed to be a major downfall for his power.

Mosley said that this programme is a great idea and did not have time to refuse on it. The USADA testing comprises the collection of athletes' blood and urine prior to and after the fight, with no warning ahead of time.

Mayweather insisted before that he just wants to show the world that boxing is a clean sport and hoped that all fighters will take similar standpoint. Why Mayweather does fought 40 Pro fights without this Olympic style of testing. Does it mean that he is dirty on all those fights? This is why the Seven-weight world champion Pacquiao disagreed on this condition because he has fought in Las Vegas on numerous occasions and never failed a drug test.

Let us hope still that there will be a progress on who is Pacquiao’s next contender after this May 1 Mayweather vs Mosley Fight.

Will Mayweather-Mosley reach a 3 million PPV sales?

Watch Pacquiao vs Clottey the event and from then we can tell how competitive he is to have great sales on a PPV against his greatest foe in mouth, Mayweather, who is fighting this May 1st. The sales doesnt need to be large for us to tell how great the fighter is. Of course Pacquiao is non-american. Clottey is non-American. The Mayweather vs Mosley fight will surely get much PPV (if thats the truth) then I believe that racism is still there and who wants to support your countrymen? But there are American people who want to watch Pacquiao fights and spend some of their dollars just to witness the legendary Manny Pacquiao on the ring.

The article below will lead you on how they will earn a  US$3  on a PPV sales.

If the May 1st fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley fails to pick up interest from Hispanic boxing fans, will this fight be able to reach the 3 million pay-per-view mark that Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has predicted for it? This is a fight that matches Mayweather, a fighter that doesn’t like to mix it up very much, against Mosley who has a crowd pleasing style of fighting that could bring in boxing fans from all nationalities in the U.S. Read More...

Mosley looked more than a match for Mayweather in a press conference

This press conference in Manhattan, New York is just a beginning of Mayweather vs Mosley struggle to go for a May 1, 2010 fight. But it seems that they dont want a May 1. They want it to happen early. In 10 of Mayweather’s last 11 fights, he’s been the taller fighter than his opponent. Yesterday, it was the 38-year-old Mosley who was clearly the taller fighter and also seemed to have the bigger frame as well. In addition, Mayweather has had a huge advantage with his trash talking of opponents recently, getting the better of Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and lately Juan Manuel Marquez.

For now, Mosley seemed to hold his own in the trash talking meet ups. At one point during their argument, Mayweather shoved Mosley. Thats the point where Mosley have to shove Mayweather in return. Then time to separate two fighters before things heat up.

Mosley stressed out that he is a lot faster and mentally stronger. It seems that mosley can hold his temper and will not go with the trash talks.

What will happen to other press conferences? I do hope that they will not put the million dollars of earnings in this fight in vain. And the expectations of many about the reality of this fight.

Is it the biggest foe of Mayweather? Can Mosley score a win over Mayweather? Is it the sign for Mayweather that he’s finally met his match after 40 fights and 14 years as a pro without a defeat. Watch out for this fight to happen this May 1, 2010.

Shane Mosley vs Antonio Margarito (Murderous last two rounds)

The video above shows how Shane Mosley slugged Antonio Margarito in a brutal way. The referee stopped the fight to save Margarito from a very serious state.

Margarito have just found with white plastics prior to the fight and have opted to re-wrap his bare hands. That incident maybe triggered Mosley to be more aggressive and defeat Margarito that way.

The upcoming Mayweather vs Mosley fight will show once more how Mosley could return from long free years waiting for big fight to happen. Now it comes along the way fighting out Mayweather.
